Running 1C in the EU: support, upgrades, and a path to migration

1C is a powerful platform, but keeping it running well inside the EU takes real engineering. Here is the full picture: support, upgrades, extensions, and what a migration path looks like when you need one.

If your business has roots in Ukraine or the CIS, you are in the right place: we know your accounting logic, your systems, and your language, which is exactly what a support or migration partner needs to know.

What 1C Is

1C is a powerful business-application platform with some of the deepest ERP functionality on the market for manufacturing, logistics, and finance. It scales from a single company to holdings with hundreds of concurrent users, and its openness to deep customization is why so many mid-size and large businesses run their operations on it. That power is also why 1C systems deserve proper engineering: supported, upgraded, and extended without losing what makes them fit your business.

Who This Is For

This is for companies that already run 1C (ERP, Holding Management, MES, WMS, or TMS modules) and need that investment kept alive, supported, and compliant while operating in the European Union. We don't require you to rip out a working system to work with us; support and migration are two separate offers, and you choose the pace.

Support and Maintenance

We support existing 1C installations across the functional areas most companies actually run on them:

  • Manufacturing: 1C:MES customization, production planning (APS), production order management, integration between 1C:ERP and 1C:MES.
  • Logistics: 1C:WMS and 1C:TMS for warehouse, transport, and fleet management, including barcode-scanner integration.
  • Finance & IFRS: IFRS/US GAAP/HGB reporting and consolidation (Manufacturing Enterprise Management, 1C:ERP, 1C:Consolidation, 1C:Corporate Finance), consultants working in English, Ukrainian, and Russian. We focus on group-level and international reporting; per-country statutory accounting is scoped per project with local partners where needed.
  • Integrations: high-load data exchange between 1C and other enterprise systems, including 1C Data Conversion and SEEBURGER BIS.

Upgrades Without Losing Customization

We handle platform, OS, and SQL upgrades for 1C systems that have been customized over years: the part that usually breaks a naive upgrade. A platform or OS/SQL upgrade typically requires re-testing and adapting any custom MES or WMS modules built on top of the base system; we scope and run that as a controlled project, with a test environment, integration testing, and a defined cutover window, rather than an in-place update. Where the level of customization is high enough that an in-place upgrade isn't realistic, we treat the move to a newer 1C version (for example, to 1C:ERP 2.5) as its own implementation project.

Development Without Losing Support

We build extensions rather than modify the base configuration directly, so your system stays on vendor support while you get the functionality you need. This applies to both new modules and adjustments to existing business processes. It also means an upgrade later doesn't force a rewrite of custom work; extensions carry forward cleanly instead of conflicting with the next platform release.

Migration to a European-Jurisdiction ERP

When it makes sense to move off 1C (end of vendor support for a module, regulatory requirements, or a broader move of operations into the EU), we run the migration as a managed project using the same methodology as any other ERP implementation: process mapping, Fit-GAP analysis, data migration, testing, training, and go-live.

  • 1C to e:corg: the path we recommend for mid-size and larger companies; see e:corg.
  • 1C to Odoo: the path for smaller businesses; see Odoo.

Transitioning to a platform within EU jurisdiction enhances regulatory alignment and creates long-term supportability for European Union based companies. This move simplifies integration with other EU-approved systems while allowing your team to adapt and evolve at your own pace.

Our Client History

Our team has supported and migrated 1C-based systems across production, logistics, and finance: experience gained over 20+ years, including engagements before New Miletus was founded. Selected examples (anonymized; full references available in conversation):

  • A global food-packaging manufacturer: end-to-end process automation from yard management to financial reporting across 1C:MEM, 1C:WMS, 1C:MES, and 1C:Corporate Finance, with hundreds of concurrent users across two countries; ongoing support of the systems continues today.
  • A turbine manufacturing plant (energy sector): engineering-to-order processes for turbine manufacturing, a POC costing method, and integration with headquarters systems.
  • International logistics operators: warehouse, transport, and fleet automation projects (1C:WMS, 1C:TMS) for European logistics providers.
